Thomas Takes 2nd at Tour de Toona
Pearl Street's Ken Thomas took 2nd place at the 2010 Tour de Toona in Johnstown, PA this past weekend in the CAT 3 race.  After catching his pedal coming out of the final turn, Thomas was unable to challenge Steve Wells (Ingram Micro) for the win, but managed to hold onto second for a great result.

Barnhardt Takes Win; Continues Streak for PS
Ben Barnhardt took the win in the Cat 4 Rice Hill Road Race on Sunday.  The win marked the 13th consecutive victory for Pearl Street's Cat 4 team in the local BBC racing scene.  The streak includes 7 consecutive road race wins (3 x Craig Polston, 2 x Barnhardt, 1 x Vince Lorenz, 1 x Adam Trost) and 6 straight Cobblestone Criterium wins (3 x Lorenz, 4 x Barnhardt, 1 x Tom Weichmann,).  The next race on the local calen

Weichmann Claims First Win

Borowiec and Polston Post Wins
Cogratulations to Brian Borowiec for winning the 50+ Expert Male Singletrack Stampede MTB Race this past weekend in Sprague Brook Park.  In local BBC Racing, Craig Polston took the win at the Chestnut Ridge Cat 4 Road Race in Orchard Park.  Teammates Ben Barnhardt took 2nd and Vince Lorenz claimed the last podium spot.

Craig Polston Claims Four Medals at 2010 Empire Games
Congratulations to Craig Polston and the Western team for their strong performance at the 2010 Empire State Games in Buffalo, NY.  Western completely dominated the 4 days of racing, winning 10 out of a possible 11 medals.  Polston took Bronze on the opening day's 10-mile Individual Time Trial on Grand Island and collected a second Bronze on day three with a strong performance in the Criterium points-race in downtown East Auror

Trost Claims BBC Championship Crown
The Buffalo Bicycling Club took to Delevan, NY for the 2010 Club Championship Weekend.  On Saturday's 1/2/3 race, hard tempo and attacks scattered the field.  Lance Johnson (Handlebars) claimed the club championship honors after breaking away with Jim Doan of Hollyloft.  Peart Street's Ken Thomas just missed the podium with a solid 4th place finish, with teammate Mike Cormier claiming 7th.Sunday's 4/5 race witnessed an early attack

Pearl Streeters Race in Boston
On Sunday the 27th, Pearl Street sent 7 racers to compete in the BBC's Boston/Coldon Road Race in Boston, NY.  In the CAT 4 race, Pearl Streeter Vince Lorenz took the win after breaking away early with teammate Ben Barnhardt and David Van Horne of Handlebars.  Craig Polston (4th), Brian Rohr (6th), and Adam Trost (7th) set the pace for the main field which came in a minute behind the breakaway.  In the CAT 5 race, Andrew

Pearl Street Participates in Ride For Roswell
Pearl Street Cycling raised over $2,000 while participating in the 15th Annual Ride For Roswell.  There was over $2.6 million raised for the event...a new record for the event.  The team completed the 100 mile course in 4 hours and 38 minutes...averaging nearly 23 mph.  Thanks Pearl Street!

Strong Results For Pearl Street at Cobblestone Series

Pearl Street Impresses Over Weekend
It was another strong showing by the Pearl Street Cycling team this weekend.  On Saturday June 19th, Adam Trost and Tom Wiechmann traveled to Rushville, NY for the Jon Dechau Memorial Time Trail.  Nearly 70 riders came out to challenge themselves on the rolling 35k course.  Adam Trost clocked a time of 48:57 which was good enough for a 2nd place finish in the CAT 4 event.  Tom Wichmann came in with a t

Barnhardt Holds Top Spot in Cobblestone Series

Hamburg Race Weekend (Hamburg, New York)
June 12-13 2010Hamburg, New York played host to the 2nd Annual Hamburg Race Weekend.  The event kicked off with a 58-mile road race on Saturday morning that saw the temperatures climb into the 90s.  The hot temperatures, combined with heavy crosswinds, made for some really tough going.  In the CAT 3/4 race, Pearl Street's Craig Polston was able to break away with Jim Doan of Hollyloft after 14 miles of racing.  The pair w

Weekend Racing (June 5th-6th)
